Honoring the Sacred Feminine: a Multi-cultural, Multi-faith Celebration of International Women’s Day
Women have always had a unique perspective on understanding, bridge-building, connecting, peace-making and healing. Salute the wisdom of women on Sunday, March 3, 2013 (1:45pm - 5:30pm) during the second annual Honoring the Sacred Feminine: a Multi-cultural, Multi-faith Celebration of International Women’s Day. Co-hosted by the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, last year’s program brought together almost 300 people from different religious and cultural backgrounds in dialogue, learning, discovery, dance and celebration. This year’s program promises to be an even greater catalyst for understanding and respect, featuring an interfaith panel discussion moderated by Gail Strong of WFYI, an inspiring dance performance by Gregory Hancock Dance Theater, a sampling of the works of artist Michelle Marocco and poet Tasha Jones, workshops on Women’s Wisdom, and an interactive music and dance session. Co-sponsored by the Christian Theological Seminary, the Indiana Buddhist Center, the Association of International Women, and Global Gifts, among others, this event promises to be a special day to celebrate women’s wisdom and contributions to global harmony.
