Celebrate Heart Health with the American Heart Association
February is American Heart Month, a good reason to consider spreading awareness and support for heart health through one of the American Heart Association’s numerous events taking place around Indianapolis.
At 8 a.m. on February 4, put on your favorite red dress and dash around downtown’s Monument Circle in support of women’s heart health at the Red Dress Dash. Heart-themed heARTwork by influential Hoosiers will also be unveiled at the event. February 7 is National Wear Red Day, so spread the word to family, friends and co-workers.
Go Red for Women will host Meet the Artist 2014 Fashion AWEARness, a philanthropic fashion show featuring designers and models from around Indianapolis, including Indy-native designer Nikki Blaine, at 5:45 p.m. on February 8. The organization will also host one of the largest luncheons of its kind in the country at the JW Marriott in downtown Indianapolis at 9 a.m. on February 21. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in health screenings, exhibits, educational breakout sessions, a heart-healthy lunch and a chance to purchase the heart-themed heARTwork originally unveiled at the Red Dress Dash.
