First 200-Hour Teacher Training for Teens Coming to Blooming Life Yoga
What organizers say is the country’s first 200-hour teacher training for teens, Torchbearer of Tradition is coming to Blooming Life Yoga Studio + School, in Zionsville, from January 8 to May 22, 2016. The five-month, 10-module, all-inclusive program is for teens 12.5 to 16 years old.
Torchbearer of Tradition is a masterfully crafted teacher- training program. Teens learn of yoga’s birth in the East and expansion to the West, as well as play through visuals, music, field trips and group communion. The comprehensive design cultivates experiential exploration and integration of philosophical texts, in-depth asana (posture) study and mind-breath-body energetics. Classes are taught within the context of a historical timeline in a manner that is accessible, breaks down jargon and caters to all learning styles.
Teens are supported in the cultivation of empowerment, self-awareness and esteem to unveil their innate potential and develop tools to manifest this potential. Master teachers, a teen psychologist and mentors will support each student during and after the program to further nurture and expand knowledge, personal understandings, and Teaching Voice. Graduates are encouraged to be ambassadors of the Yoga Tradition within their communities— teaching in local yoga studios and schools, leading environmental and peace efforts and ultimately contributing to and representing a new generation of yoga.
