Red Tent Women’s Winter Gathering
Red Tent Indy will host Winter Solstice and New Moon Gathering for women from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on December 14 at White Pine Wilderness Academy, in Indianapolis. Participants can expect an intimate evening with a sharing circle where women discuss topics including reflection and restoration over the winter, and how the changes in the Earth’s seasons affect their lifestyles and create a need to slow down.
The event is also a celebration for the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year in the northern hemisphere. A meditation will be led by Kelsey Eberwine, owner of Breathing Space Yoga, and participants will learn how to slow down their breath and mind.
“As the holiday season approaches, we find ourselves rushing around to take care of others, buying gifts, attending holiday parties and visiting family, but we rarely take time to pause and nurture ourselves,” says Eberwine. “Meditation gives us the opportunity to reset our mind and bring mental clarity. When the thoughts are clear, the actions are more organized and concise. We get the same amount of work done in less time.”
The Rent Tent women circles are a continuation of the annual Red Tent Workshop and Festival, held in late summer. The intention of the events is for women to gather in sacred space to share their stories, learn from each other, express, inspire and heal. Reservations are recommended as space is limited.
