Virginia Avenue Folk Fest: Come One, Come All
The second annual Virginia Avenue Folk Fest will take place from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on May 14. The free, family-friendly outdoor festival is presented by Square Cat Records and will be held in Indy’s Fountain Square neighborhood, just south of downtown.
Hear new music and experience the creativity and talent this vibrant community has to offer. Attendees will support the local music scene, artists and businesses in Indianapolis, as well as connect with fellow community members. Proceeds from the event benefit Keep Indianapolis Beautiful.
Multiple stages will host a variety of musical acts throughout the day. The lineup includes Joe Pug, Charlie Parr, Chicago Farmer, Buffalo Radio, Motherfolk and Brave Baby among others. Stage locations will be set up at local shops and restaurants in Fountain Square and Fletcher Place. According to Mike Angel, a co-founder of the festival and band member of Bigfoot Yancey, “The 2016 Virginia Avenue Folk Fest is a festival that is truly for everyone. There’ll be 100 performances on 13 different stages in one music-packed day.”
