‘Walk the Talk Speaker Series’ Presents Love in Action
Sep 02, 2016 09:45PM
“Walk the Talk: Creating an Epic Shift,” an inspirational speaker series inspired by Ted Talks, will premiere its second show at 8 p.m. on September 28 at The Vogue, in Broad Ripple.
This edition in the series includes six local presenters speaking for 10 minutes each on the subject of “Love in Action.” The speakers auditioned and were chosen to speak on this topic based on their unique personal experiences.
“That’s the beauty of these talks,” says co-host Reverend Richard Brendan. “Each individual will have a different perspective on the topic and we will get to experience a snapshot of messages intended to inspire and motivate for positive life changes.”
Reverend Brendan hosts the radio show, Richard Brendan… Bringing Love to Life, on 88.7 FM WICR on Sundays at noon. He talks with a variety of singer/songwriters, filmmakers, peace and environmental activists, actors and visionary leaders that provide stories demonstrating what it means to practice the power of love and compassion for all humanity. He and Vogue owner, Steve Ross, collaborated on this series to spread awareness of spiritual global concepts in the Indianapolis community by giving local voices a chance to speak.
“We get to see neighbors and friends get up on stage, some for the very first time, and share inspiring perspectives,” says Brendan.
The first night of the series in July attracted 300-plus attendees and was an interactive night of live music, confetti and a light show. The events are intended to promote community growth by allowing local members to share empowering knowledge in a lively, fun-filled setting. Auditions for the December event will be on November 10.
Admission: $10 in advance online, $15 at the door. Event is for ages 21 and older. Location: The Vogue, 6259 N. College Ave., Indianapolis. 317-259-7029. For more information, visit BelieveInIt.com. For tickets online, visit TheVogue.com.
