Midwives, (L) Angela Lyttle, MSN, CNM, (R)Victoria Floyd, MSN, CNM
Sacred Roots Midwifery and Birth Center plans to open on September 1 at 6620 Parkdale Place, Suite K, in Indianapolis (licensure pending). This is Central Indiana’s only free-standing birth center and provides exceptional care to women and families fostering optimal health, wellness and empowered birth.
Birth centers embody a home-like environment and provide family-centered care for women before, during and after childbirth.
Sacred Roots believes that pregnancy is a normal and natural process as opposed to a medical condition, and women who receive no or minimal intervention-based care will have the best outcomes during pregnancy and birth. Women are empowered to take a leading role in making informed decisions about their healthcare needs. In doing so, women have the capacity to positively impact the total health and wellness of their family and surrounding community.
The center is designed to benefit the entire community, offering full-scope nurse-midwifery, a family nurse practitioner and well-women care. A variety of holistic services and treatments will be offered to provide well-rounded, comprehensive and personalized healthcare to women and families of all backgrounds. Integrative modalities include chiropractic care, acupuncture, mental health counseling, dietician services, and even a gallery for local artists. The center also plans to host wellness retreats and classes on early pregnancy, childbirth and parenting education, breastfeeding, and cloth diapering.
Sacred Roots Birth Center is now accepting clients for prenatal care with an estimated date of birth on or after October 21.
