Ricker’s Replenish Initiative Drives to Impact the Environment
Local, family-owned Ricker’s gas stations are donating a portion of every gallon of gas sold at Indy Metro locations to help make the city cleaner and greener. Each time a consumer purchases gas at participating locations, a portion of every gallon is donated to certified carbon reduction projects.
The Ricker’s Replenish program invests in planting trees, solar-powered projects and others to neutralize up to 30 percent of a consumer’s tailpipe emissions. The initiative supports and invests in projects designed to pull and offset harmful carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions out of the atmosphere and to put oxygen back in.
The program plants trees locally with the Arbor Day Foundation and Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB). In conjunction with KIB, they are helping preserve a nearly 300-year-old tree in the Springdale neighborhood on Indy’s eastside. This project will turn a vacant lot into a permanent community greenspace with native landscaping, educational signage and public art.
