Vegan Thanksgiving Meal at Uplands PEAK Sanctuary
Nov 03, 2016 01:06AM
Uplands PEAK Sanctuary is hosting their fourth annual Peaksgiving, a vegan-style traditional Thanksgiving experience, from 1 to 4 p.m. on November 5 at the Sanctuary, in Salem. Along with a vegan dinner, there’ll be a silent auction, bonfire, photo booth, live music, informational booths, and coffee and apple cider from a local coffee shop.
Located on 20 acres of refuge, Uplands PEAK Sanctuary rescues and rehabilitates abused and neglected farm animals, and educates the public about the health benefits of a vegan lifestyle.
The meal, served at 2:30 p.m., will include traditional Thanksgiving food with main courses, sides and desserts, as well as vegan samples, including beef jerky. There’ll also be tours to meet the rescues, and a walking labyrinth and trail.
Uplands PEAK is a 501(c)(3) organization and this is their largest annual fundraiser with all money raised going directly to their operating costs.
Admission: $49, $25 for children ages 12 and under, $115 for VIP tickets. Location: 4205 W. Grandview Rd., Salem. For more information, visit UplandsPEAKSanctuary.org.
