Walk the Talk Speaker Series Presents Compassion
Walk the Talk: Creating an Epic Shift is presenting its third segment, Compassion, from 7:15 to 9 p.m. on December 14 at The Vogue, in Broad Ripple. An inspirational speaker series inspired by TED Talks, the event features six local presenters that were auditioned and chosen based on their unique personal experiences with compassion speaking for 10 minutes each on the subject.
“Our speakers will dust off your mind, upgrade your mental hard drive and rub and scrub till your soul shines,” says Steve Ross, Vogue owner.
Ross, along with Reverend Richard Brendan, host of the radio show, Richard Brendan… Bringing Love to Life on 88.7 FM WICR on Sundays at noon, collaborated on this series to spread awareness of spiritual global concepts in the Indianapolis community by giving local voices a chance to speak to motivate and inspire.
“When audience members see fellow community members speaking deeply about their impacting experiences, it makes it more real for them and helps them prioritize to explore these topics further within their own lives,” says Angie Capretti, Walk the Talk’s social media strategist.
The other events in this series have attracted 300-plus attendees and consisted of an interactive night of live music and a light show.
Speaker auditions for the next topic, Miracles, will be held on January 10 for the February 7 event. The event committee is looking for sponsorships from community members that want to make a difference and create an epic shift.
Past speeches were filmed and can be viewed at the Walk the Talk YouTube page along with audience reactions and responses as to how the event impacted them.
Admission: $15. Event is for ages 21 and older. Location: The Vogue, 6259 N. College Ave., Indianapolis. For more information or to apply to be a speaker or sponsor, call 317-259-7029 or visit BelieveInIt.com. For tickets, visit TheVogue.com.
