Eskenazi Celebrates Fifth Anniversary

Since opening five years ago, the Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital and Eskenazi Health Campus have made its mark in the Indianapolis area. Nearly 5 million people have received in- and outpatient care at the health campus and our area has benefited from their many uniquely sustainable elements and holistically minded programs.

In recognition of their healthy, highly efficient and cost-saving green buildings, the Eskenazi Health campus received Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the entire campus, making it among the first and largest new hospital campuses nationwide and first in the state for this achievement.

Eskenazi’s Sky Farm, on the rooftop of the Sandra Eskenazi Outpatient Care Center, has produced 14,000-plus pounds of produce to benefit patients, staff and the city’s residents via the center’s Crooked Creek Food Pantry since it opened in 2015.

Eskenazi recently partnered with Indy Urban Acres to establish an acre-and-ahalf farm at Eskenazi Health Center Pecar to complement the existing Sky Farm at the Eskenazi Health downtown campus.

The Eskenazi Health Foundation launched a free monthly concert series in November to showcase finalists for the 2019 American Pianists Association American Pianists Awards at noon performances in the Eli Lily and Company Foundation Concourse at the Eskenazi Health downtown campus.
