“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” —Mary Oliver
Recognizing that another year has come and almost gone, I woke up today with Mary Oliver’s question on my mind. I’ll be celebrating my birthday soon; and I’m probably past the half-way mark of my life. While I’m grateful for all my blessings, I know I have so much more to create in this lifetime.
During this month, gratitude is on our minds as Thanksgiving approaches... it’s also important to remember that we have the power to create whatever we truly desire in life. Which requires conscious action on our parts. Sherri Mitchell is especially inspiring in this month’s Wise Words: “Sherri Mitchell on Indigenous Wisdom for Our Times.” My favorite line: “We are co-creators of this reality, and it is time to move beyond the kindergarten-level of the law of attraction and take conscious responsibility for what we are actively creating, whether we intend it or not, because we are creating and putting things into motion all the time.”
This means that in every moment we are actively creating our “reality.” Every time we complain without taking action, every time we accept less than what we desire, every time we pass responsibility to another, every time we wait (yet again) because it’s “not the right time.” Those are ALL signals to the universe. It’s up to us, individually, to ask what signal we’re sending out in every moment.
And adjust accordingly.
To your Creation,
